'Active at Home' booklet has been produced by NHS to provide practical guidance to older adults on home-based activities to maintain their strength and balance. It follows concerns that low levels of physical activity in older adults will lead to reduced fitness resulting in loss of independence and need for care in the future.

Carers

caring for others can usually be stressful but it can become even more so in crisis. There are resources available locally (in Southampton) or nationally like Alzheimer's Society who can offer support and guidance for carers who are looking for help.

The Lighthouse, an informal out-of-hours mental health drop-in for anyone over the age of 18 who requires short-term support in times of great difficulty or is struggling with poor mental health. More information and opening times can be found on the Southern Health website
