Windward Day Services:
Offer day opportunities for adults with a learning disability- they run four independent centres in Totton (Windward), Ringwood (Spiral Blue), Verwood (Helix) and Chandlers Ford (Thrive) and a community group in New Milton (Cheers). They create opportunity to make days out interesting and meaninging. They promote an environment where it's easy to make friends in a vibrant atmosphere. They have put together a youtube channel for adults with Learning Disability who can take part in competitions, quizzes and just have fun with other adults with learning disabilities and with staff who run and supervise activities at Windward.
Mencap:
Mencap is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and their families now, and fight alongside them for a better future. They team up with network of over 300 local groups to reach people across England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
ADHD Foundation
The ADHD Foundation Charity is an integrated health and education service offering a unique lifespan - strength based service, for people who live with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia and Tourette’s syndrome. They work in partnership with agencies across all public services and business sectors, with aim to influence policy and provision for the benefit of all; reduce dependency, empower and enable people living with such condition to achieve their potential and improve life opportunities.
Buzz Network
The Buzz Network is a group for Southampton Parents/Carers of Children and young people with a disability or additional needs. It is funded by Southampton City Council who work closely with the Southampton Parent Carer Forum to ensure it is meeting the needs of families.
Short Breaks provide children and young people with disabilities or additional needs an opportunity to spend time away from their parents, engage in fun activities and enjoy time with their friends. They offer parents and carers a break from their caring responsibilities and time to spend with other family members or to catch up on other daily tasks.
